SIGNS OF WINDOWS DEFENDER BLOCKING THE APP:
- you cannot read/write files; File -> New gives an error
- errors like "There is no Plan table"
- on startup you get a message that "You must have internet access to run the program" and then it shuts down
HOW TO FIX:
Open Start Menu Search for “Windows Security” (the app by Microsoft) Go to Firewall & network protection
Click “Allow an app through firewall”
Click “Change settings” (you may need admin rights)
Look for your app in the list:
- If you find it → check both Private and Public
- If not → click “Allow another app…”
- Browse to your app’s
.exe-> The RetirementView.exe is located at:C:\Program Files\RetirementView\RetirementView.exe
- Add it, then check both boxes
- Browse to your app’s
Click OK
Now start up RetirementView again and see if the problem has gone away.
