Customer Joe G. could not save files because Windows was setting the Torrid Technologies folder tree to READ ONLY. So I had previously used Windows Explorer to go to each folder and set the attributes in Properties to remove the read-only it. I then hit Apply. I did this for all three folders Torrid Technologies, Retirement Savings Planner and Client Files.
When he restarted the read-only bits were SET BACK AGAIN.
Further research indicates that this is a general problem in Windows 7. My guess is that possibly there is something our app is doing that Windows 7 does not like and it then is restricting it from writing to the hard drive.
PERMANENT SOLUTION:
- Go to desktop
- Right click the shortcut icon
- Select Properties
- Select Compatibility
- Check the box for "Run as Administrator" at bottom.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
From now on when you start that icon it may ask for permission to run it. This is the UAC kicking in to mess with its permissions. But once you say YES it will then let you read and write the files.
ALSO, there is some type of FONT problem where the font sizes are switching between small and large fonts on the menus and menu items. That is very weird looking. Don't know what causes that.

Torrid Support 1 We had this with another client today running Windows 7 and the RB version of the software. The Documents folders were all set to Read only. Don't know why Microsoft is doing that.
Also he was using an ASUS laptop that had built in bloatware from ASUS that caused a conflict with the GoToMeeting software. It made a big gray box appear in the middle of the screen making that section of the screen useless and difficult to click on any popups or buttons on windows. The solution was to kill the following two processes under Task Manager: ATKOSD2.exe and a sister process that was similarly named like ATKOSD or something similar. We killed both processes and problem went away.
