Originally from ticket #12220.
SITUATION: Windows 7 Pro - running RetirementView gets to first screen, but when clicking Try Demo the program crashes. You cannot find the process inside Task Manager. This means Windows hammered the app.
SOLUTION:
Cary called because his old client files could not be seen by his new 2014 install.
We did a Join.me to look at his computer.
1). I noticed that the new 2014 was the RB code base which can only open .rp8 files. Right now it CANNOT open old .rp7 files.
2). I noticed an old zendesk ticket that had turned off DEP on the PLanner.exe to get it running. So I decided to install the old 2014 visual basic code base, and sure enough Windows 7 crashes the program after hitting Try Demo. The solution then is TURN OFF DEP for the PLanner.exe. This worked! See this Zendesk article on how to turn off DEP in Windows 7.

So now Cary is using the same code base that anyone who downloads the pro from our main website uses.
This means for now the 1 or 2 clients he entered in the newer RP codebase, he will need to print out those reports, and go enter the data in the version that we activated today.
