Is the free trial download of the retirement planner a full working version or is it limited to a pre-populated set of input data to merely demonstrate the product's capabilities? Is there a time limit on the demo?
The DEMO is the full version EXCEPT you can't change the investment returns... you can change everything else... just not the returns. It will save all the data you enter even on the Investments button screen... but it won't let you use the blended returns in the demo calculations. You can also print the reports.
There is no TIME LIMIT on the demo versions. It is a big hassle for everyone to give a 30 day trial and then on day 31 "hey I never got a chance to look at it"... so our demo version does not have a time limit... It's just that without being able to change the returns the plan will not be realistic, yet you should be able to enter enough data to see how the program works.
If you try the demo, go FIRST to the fields in the lower left for retirement age, job income, raise factor. Then go to Tax deferred balance, contributions, matching, skip the returns since you can't change those... etc. If you use TAB after each entry it will pop you to the next available input.... so enter values, TAB, enter value, TAB... that's the easiest way to get going in the DEMO.
