Hello Gregory,

If you follow these steps, this will correct the issues you are currently having with our software.

1). First you need to go to Main Subscriber’s computer and run the software. Click on the Purchase menu and select User Information. Write down EXACTLY how you entered your name and birth date on that screen. (It is critical to re-enter this information exactly or this process will not work!)
2). Second, go under “Purchase menu” then click “Enter activation key”. Write down the Activation Key EXACTLY. You will need to enter that on your 2nd computer after installation.
3). Third, go to your 2nd computer and log onto the following web page http://www.torrid-tech.com/downloads/downloads.html. Download the version of the Retirement Planning Software that you purchased; Personal, Couples or Professional.
4). After download is complete, run the software and enter the name and birth date exactly as you have it on the first computer.
5). Then click "Activate after Purchase" and on next screen enter the activation key in the STEP 3 section.
6). Exit the software.
7a). For Personal or Couples versions, you can copy your data file from:
My Documents\Torrid Technologies\Retirement Savings Planner\defaults.dat
To the same location on the new computer.
Run the software again and it should read in your data.
b). For the Pro version, you may want to copy your client files over from this location on first computer:
My Documents\Torrid Technologies\Retirement Savings Planner\Client Files
to the same location on the new computer.
Also there are some settings files that control your branding and contact info as well as your disclaimers if you have edited them. You need to copy these two files over:
C:\Documents and Settings\[Your Username]\Application Date\Torrid Technologies\Retirement Savings Planner\Plan.ini
and
C:\Documents and Settings\[Your Username]\Application Date\Torrid Technologies\Retirement Savings Planner\Cust.ini
Where [Your Username] is the computer account name you are using in Windows. For example: JSmith is typical or perhaps first name John. It's usually related to your name and setup when you first install windows or by your "tech guy".
If you move those over to the same location on new computer then you won't have to retype in your contact info and disclaimers.

Thank you,
Efren

Hi Greg,
Please disregard the directions below as they will not help you.

While we don't know anything about Win7 Easy Transfer, it clearly did not move over everything, or did not move to the right place.
We would suggest you reinstall the program from here:

http://www.torrid-tech.com/downloads/downloads.html

Note on Win7 it would go in the x86 area. It is also a 32-bit program.

Thanks and hope this helps!

Sincerely,
