Cash Infusion entry does not show up on Retirement Income Graph

Originally from ticket #9692.

Garry L. entering in cash infusion and his entry is not showing up - 8160.00 estimated dollar amount - 2 years left on the payment adding this data to the plan but it's not saving to the plan -

Hi there Gary,

We received a customer support inquiry from you regarding a Cash Infusion entry....

Without looking at your file, my first question would be to make sure that your specific infusion is listed in annual terms and not monthly monies. If the infusion is listed as a monthly term, the program thinks that is your annual amount so the representation on the graph would be so small that it would appear not to be there.

If adjusting this doesn't work, please send us over your data files so that we can be better equipped in assisting you with resolving the issue you are experiencing.

Warmest regards,
Miji

Miji - You are probably aware, I have been using your program for over five years so feel quite comfortable with it. I am using an annual income of $8,160 and have never had this problem before. The input on the cash infusion page is correct but it doesn't show on the face page of the graft nor at the top in the while box where it usually shows up.

Not sure how to send you data files.

Thanks,

Garry

Garry,

What do you have the last column of that cash infusion set to?

If you have it set to Tax Deferred QUalified... you won't see it as it goes into TDQ in the background because that is not after tax cash which the income graph shows.

If you set that column to Taxable then you should see it show up.

Does that help?

-Tim

Tim - the last column is and was set to taxable but that doesn't make it show up??? They are coming in tomorrow AM so need it fixed before tomorrow. Help.

Thanks,

Garry

Garry,

I emailed you earlier, but didn't hear back from you today...

Did you get my note about making sure the checkbox on the line of the cash infusion is CHECKED?

Also I am in meetings tomorrow from 9am - 12pm noon.

What time is your client coming into the office?

-Tim

Hi Tim - My client appt is at 1:00PM today. Still haven't resolved this yet. The check box on cash infusion is checked. Where do we go from here?

I have client appts today at 10:00, 11:00, 1:00 and 2:00.

Thanks,

Garry

SOLUTION:

Garry had Social Security and Pension totalling about $30k but Annual Income needs set to $7200 so that the income coming in was so much greater than the specified income needs that the Cash Infusion was not needed. Thus the Cash Infusion was simply being added to the Taxable investments and not even drawn.

- Tim
