Error 339 or Program Crashes on Windows 10

Windows 10 problem: Customer runs the RetirementView, then clicks "Try Demo" and the program crashes with  - error 339 MSCOMCTL.OCX cannot be found or is not registered.

FIRST SOLUTION TO TRY:

The installers for Windows have been changed to fix this.  So STEP ONE have them download and re-run the latest installers from our website at:

http://www.torrid-tech.com/downloads/downloads.html

THis has been correcting the problem.

SECOND SOLUTION if the first one doesn't work:

The problem is that MSOFFICE 365 has an MSCOMCTL.OCX already registered and thus our installer cannot install it into C:\SYSWOW64 ... we manually copied the MSOFFICE MSCOMCTL.OCX dated 2015 and it fixed the problem instantly

 Step-by-Step Instructions if the installer does not fix the problem:

1. Search their hard drive for MSCOMCTL and find the one in their MS Office installation.
2. COPY that file to this location on their hard drive: C:\Windows\SysWOW64
3. Find the RetirementView icon on their desktop
4. Right click the icon and select "Run As Administrator"
5. The program should now start up fine.

  Mitch Findlay had same problem.

  C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\vfs\SystemX86\MSCOMCTL.OCX

  We put the control in syswow 64 and I registered it manually but

  then got error code 0x8002801c

  I then just tried to do Run as Administrator on the desktop icon for RetirementView and program started up fine!

  HERE IS THE FIX THAT IS WORKING RIGHT NOW:

  1. Search their hard drive for MSCOMCTL and find the one in their MS Office installation.
  2. COPY that file to this location: C:\Windows\SysWOW64
  3. Find the RetirementView icon on their desktop
  4. Right click the icon and select "Run As Administrator"
  5. The program should now start up fine.
