1st try this:
- * ERROR on download: not a trusted (or identified) developer...or something similar:
- You have two ways around this:
-
If you’re installing on a Mac, sometimes it will tell you that it isn’t an authorized developer. Here’s how you can bypass that the easiest way:
- While holding down the control key on your keyboard, click the installer's .pkg file icon once to make a dropdown menu appear.
- Control+click to open the context menu, then select Open from the top
- Select Open from the menu. A new window will appear.
- Click Open in that window to launch the application. You should only need to do this once per application, on the first launch. After that, you'll be able to launch the application any way you like.
- Confirm that you want to launch the application
Once you do that it should let you launch the .pkg package installer.
- The other way is this:
- You may need to change security settings: Go to System Preferences> Security & Privacy>General.
- At the bottom, click "Anywhere". If it's greyed out, click on the picture of the Padlock. (see attachment)
- BE SURE YOU CHANGE THIS BACK AFTER INSTALL!! Don't want anyone getting a virus due to our advise! (see attached: Unlock Permissions)
- Download the edition you purchased from our website (http://www.torrid-tech.com/downloads/downloads-mac.html).
- There should be an installer on your desktop. If not, go to Finder>Downloads. Double click on the .dmg file. It will kind of twinkle a little. (see attached picture)
- Now look to the left under "Devices". You should see the RSP installer. Open that. Drag the RSP icon (the red, green, yellow graph icon) into your Applications folder. It will copy in.
- Open your Applications folder and click RSP package. Follow prompts to install.
- Request Activation Key.
- Open the software and add Activation Key. If it opens, close and open again to make sure that it retains the key.

Still having problems:
- Close RetirementView
- Open your finder (2 toned blue face)
- Go to My Documents> Torrid Technologies >Retirement Savings Planner
- You should see a file there named defaults.rp8.
- Click once on that file to highlight it
- While it's highlighted, click Command and hold wile you click the letter I (⌘I) –if you’re new to Mac, FYI, that’s how you get Information on any file…”I” stands for Information.
- You will see a pop up box- go to the bottom of that box and make sure it says that (your computer name) has this permission- "Read & Write".
- If not it probably says “Read Only”
- click on “Read Only” and select “Read & Write”
- If it does say you can Read & Write, then hooray!
- Now just go up to the place on the same pop up box where it says “Name & Extension”
- Change the name of the file from defaults.rp8 to defaultsBAK.rp8 (Do that by typing straight into the box)
- Close the Information box and the finder
- Try running the program again it should work
